Pieces Make Profits
Pieces Make Profits Are you tired of crawling around on the ground digging through filthy boxes just to try to find hidden treasures to sell on eBayb
I know I certainly am!
Im Deb Henry, a stay at home mom, eBay Education Specialist reseller of STUFF
Ive been selling stuff online and off, and in many different sales venues since 2002.
Over the past decade, Ive learned a thing or two about how to sell, what to sell, and where the best markets are to sell these things.
The first thing I learned is that unless you have a way to get repeat business, you are constantly working to get new eyeballs on your sales listings.
Once you have established yourself in a niche, then you will reap the rewards of return customers.
This is true in ANY sales driven business, be it sales on-line OR off, and for physical products or digital information.
In the early days of selling on eBay, I sold whatever I ran across while out buying!
The buying part was definitely FUN, but the selling part was difficult for many reasons: Researching WHAT I found turned out to be a LOT harder than it first appeared to be
.
After finally (well, sometimes finally) identifying what I had, finding the best listing strategy,
and even if there is a market for that item AT ALLA was difficult, if not impossible to do at times
.
Just because I built it (the sales listing) did NOT guarantee that they will come AND buy!
.
A person that bought trinket #1 may NEVER be interested in ANYTHING else I sell,
unless I happen to find a trinket #2 that both appeals to them and is priced right My sell through rates werent great,
I was constantly out looking for that big score
and frankly the disappointment was really beginning to get to me.
So, I started researching and thinking and learning. after a really, really LONG time REALLY! I finally began to make some sense out of what I needed to do to get myself OFF the volume listing, hamster wheel of eBay.
I desperately needed to start taking control of my listing and sourcing time effort!
I knew I needed these things: A niche that I could sell in full time that would not have products
that are difficult to source as inventory as and when I needed it
.
A product or group of products that were cheap easy to source,
and could be sold at high mark up rates
.
A product that I could preferably find and buy online and be able to
turn around and sell without having to do much,
if ANYTHING to it in order to sell at a profit
.
A product that didnt require tons of research and analysis
BEFORE I could even BEGIN to list and sell the item
.
A productA that was easy to store, photograph, list AND ship
.
And of course, a product that was in demand from multiple
types of buyers and was not a flash in the pan niche I also wanted to find something that ANYONE, ANYWHERE could do successfully even a child!
In fact, my 8 year old daughter who loves to sort things as much (if not MORE) than I do, has been helping me with this niche for several months!
She has also been a big help in identifying some of the newer, more modern bits that I wasnt personally familiar with!
Before I reveal to you what Im actually talking about, I have a little economics lesson I would like to teach you.
As you know there are many ways to make money selling on eBay. Many PowerSellers make their money on sheer volume. These sellers turn over massive amounts of inventory on a daily/weekly basis, but make very little in final profit per sale.
Lets look at volume in another way think about the big box discount stores.
You know the places, where you can get 10 tubes of toothpaste and save $0.25 per tube. Okay, maybe you save a little more than that, but when you go into these warehouse stores, YOU are expecting to get a good deal, rightb
You know that you are going to have a VOLUME discount passed onto you, the consumer, in exchange for buying WAY more stuff than you could probably use in your lifetime. You are getting a per piece discount, that you would NOT expect to receive at a regular, retail store RIGHTb
The same mentality holds true on eBay. Once you start putting multiples of items together in a Lot, Set, Group, De-stash WHATEVER, the eBay bargain mentality that ALREADY exists jumps into high gear and the buyerA immediately starts calculating their per piece cost of what you are selling.
When you begin selling BULK or even small multiples, you are no longer selling to the retail customer, you are selling to the resellers
who MUST be able to make a profit off of what YOU are selling.
That is a key point that bears repeating!
If you sell in bulk, you will only be successful if your buyers can make a profit off of YOUR listing!
A parts dealer in ANYTHING, ends up putting in a little more work in the initial sales process AND the end fulfillment, BUT they also reap the rewards of making more, and most times a LOT more money than the warehouse, wholesaler or bulk lot reseller will EVER end up making.
Remember, small business ownersA shop at the warehouse stores for THEIR inventory to sell.
and eBay resellers shop on eBay to get bulk lots that THEY can break up, list and sell.
This main idea can be applied and works in literally thousands of niches.
Pieces Make Profits focuses on a HUGE niche that can be broken down into literally DOZENS if not HUNDREDS of specialized niches within it.
I am talking about Game Pieces.
SERIOUSLY.
This is an incredible niche, with WIDE open opportunities!
Lets take an example from Pieces Make Profits: In my guide I show you how I personally bought this lot for $45.95, split out the different pieces parts and turned this mixed grab bag of what looks like junk into an incredible $327.00!!
Mixed game parts lots crop up on eBay CONSTANTLY. Once you know what to look for and how to sell it, you can buy on eBay AND sell on eBay and reap HUGE rewards in the process.
And no, I did not have to create 100+ separate listings to sell these items.. in factA MANY of the listings once created, can be used again and again!
This guide shows you how to buy regular, old game parts nothing antique, nothing extraordinary stuff, if you have kids, that is probably in the bottom of their toy boxes or all over the floor in their play room!
If that didnt convince you, let me show you another screen shot from Pieces Make Profits: You could ALSO just sell the game board and box ONLY (NO other parts pieces), if you would like. At this point, I hope that I have convinced you that selling pieces parts is a viable eBay business strategy; one that yields incredible profits! .
